We're currently seeking a HR Generalist. We are looking for a do’er who is focused relentlessly on execution and recognizes that these roles are as much about the details as they are the high level strategic execution. Fireclay Tile is a vertically integrated 115+ person company involving manufacturing, marketing and sales, and finance and accounting play a central role in our success.

This full time hands-on position will be based out of our beautiful Aromas, CA location. In This Role You Will:

  • Responsible for all phases of employment including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement of personnel, orientation programs and exit interviews
  • Administer all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, STD, LTD, leaves of absences and paid time off.
  • Serve as a source of contact for managers, and employees on all human resource related matters.
  • Maintain and administer HR reports and records as required by state and federal laws.
  • Maintain and update personnel files.
  • Compute, post, and maintain reports related to employee leave and absentees.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

ATTRIBUTES
The individual must possess the following:

  • Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting.
  • Strong recruiting skills
  • Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution.
  • Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.
  • Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.

You will be great if you have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate (proficient in MS Word, MS Excel)
  • BS degree in HR Administration/Business Mgmt
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Safety/CalOSHA beneficial
  • Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret regulatory laws and manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees of the company. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
